Welcome to the Vertigo Forum

I’ve had Vertigo for years. I was diagnosed with it about 2 years ago after experiencing it for years before. But 2 years ago it was at its worst, and today is like a visit to the past. I have a silent migraine at the moment. No pain but light and sound is bothering me extremely, not hurting but making me dizzy. If I move anything, ifs like someone’s shoving me. If I move my eyes too quickly, Same deal. And man it is a pain to stand or walk. Haven’t had it this bad in a while. Just really really sucks.

Cynthia,

Darn it! I’m sorry you’re having such a rough day. Do you do anything to treat your silent Migraines?

Hi. I have had chronic vertigo since June 2002. I now think that silent migraines might be part of the issue. Have either of you had any success with anything you have done?

Well vertigo is a brainstem symptom and can be considered part of the aura, part of the migraine, or the entire migraine itself without the headache. Some people get 1-3 days of vertigo which is similar to the duration in migraine. One study showed Zomig nasal spray aborting attacks of migrainous vertigo.

I once saw a young woman with “cluster vertigo” with daily vertiginous attacks lasting one hour for 6 weeks a year.
