Welcome to the Hormonal Changes Forum

I’m just starting to try for a baby (my first) and am worried about how pregnancy will affect my migraines. Will the hormone changes make them worse? I don’t normally suffer from hormonal migraines, mine are mainly triggered by certain foods and lack of sleep. I am also worried about having a migraine with a little baby to look after.

LWATS80. First let me say Congrats on deciding for a child!!! Motherhood is the most rewarding job in the world. Now on to answer your question (or try to at least) If you have not already succeeded in becoming preganat I am sure you are still wondering. I cannot speak for everyone but I know that at least for me throughout my four pregnacies has been the longest amount of time I can go migraine free. If you already know what foods trigger your migraines then that shouldnt be a huge problem for you. The sleep related migraines however could be. Hopefully you have a very strong support system in place already because those people will be crucial to your being able to deal with everything. Regaurdless of wether you are trying to avoid migraines or not I always tell new moms the same thing. SLEEP WHEN THEY DO!!!! Hvae grandparents, aunts/uncles, or close trusted friends babysit for a cpl hours when they can. Not only will this give you a chance to get a little more rest it will give you a chance to shower, clean, shop, etc… All the things you need to do but have a hard time finding the time for. Good luck on the baby trying (or congrats on the baby!!!) and I hope I was able to help
