Welcome to the Axert Forum

hangingbyathread said 2 months, 2 weeks ago ago:

I made a comment on the Zomig Forum, since no one else had, and Axert is the last triptan I have in the group that I have not tried and has either not worked, or gone to the MOH category. I have been using it for about a month perhaps 2 now, and it is still working.

I try not to take it more than once a week, once every 2 weeks is better, so I can prolong its usefulness before it goes into the MOH category (see Zomig comments). If I don’t take it at the beginning of the migraine, it does not work at all. I could take it almost every evening because by 5 pm I have a migraine that feels like it will go into a full blown attack. Sometimes they do, and sometimes they subside by 4 am with an ice bag. By 12 am I can usually tell and will take the Axert before I go to sleep around 12:30 am. If I wait until I wake up at 4:15 which I do every night, it is too late, and the Axert will not work, unless the migraine is still in its mild stage. Otherwise, I’m sunk, and have to hope it is not a really bad one. Then I have to resort to Stadol, which knocks me for a loop, and takes me out of commission for about 4 days.

hangingbyathread – I addressed some of your questions in the Zomig thread. I hope they are helpful answers…
